Keeping your home organized and in place is quite a task and involves a lot of effort from all the occupants in it. Sometimes, especially with children around, homes can get very chaotic and have things thrown all around, leaving it an untidy mess. Luckily, there are quite a few hacks you can make use of to ensure that your home is tidy without a lot of effort. In this article, we have listed out some of these DIY hacks.
1: GAIN STORAGE SPACE WITHOUT SHELVES:
If you feel like you don’t have the space to put up huge shelves and think it will clutter your room or not blend in perfectly with all your other furniture, try to DIY your own peg boards because these take up very little space and can be used to keep books, vases or anything else that will help lighten up your room.
2: CREATE HANGING SPACE:
You always have a lot of things to hang, be it towels, hats, clothes and more. Instead of relying on normal hangers found in every other house, DIY your own ladder which will add some aesthetic appeal to your whole room and help you hang all your things in a more creative way.
3: FAKE LINEN CLOSETS:
Linen closets are everywhere and can take up a good deal of space in your home. Instead of relying on such a piece of furniture to store all your linens, attach open baskets to your wall that will act as an easy, makeshift linen closet in which you can store whatever you want.
4: COLOUR YOUR KEYS:
It is very easy to forget which key goes where when you have a whole stack of similar looking ones. As a result, most of us spend time trying each key over and over again until we find the right one, thus, wasting a lot of time in the process. There is a simple fix for this. All you need to do is to colour code your keys, i.e. paint each one with a different colour, preferably using nail polish so that you never forget again.
5: CLIP YOUR CHARGERS:
If you are the type of person that likes to charge your phone on your nightstand near the bed and thus, often end up searching for the cord deep under your bed the next morning, this might be just the hack for you. All you need to do to prevent this from happening is attach a binder clip to your nightstand and then lace your charger through these so that you never have to search for them every night.
